RAs323, nice, how long does it take you to build your ponds?

My first pond took at least 7 or 8 years-it was just never big enough or deep enough. I used four different tractors and one mini excavator. This new pond (#2) will take abouut 2 years--it gets real boring moving dirt. Now I have a dump trailer so moving dirt away is much easier, using a bucket takes forever.

Sounds like you need an earth mover, well good luck with pond # 2

Hey Brian: Glad to see your putting that equipment to work. Very nice place you have there and great views. Just got my 72"Gannon rollover. Ready to do some earth moving this summer. Is your Gannon a 72"? Looks just like the one I just got. Is yours a cat II? Keep up the good work!

Slippy, My Gannon is 81" cutting width with cat 2 mounts. I sure am happy with it.:) What does the Gannon go for these days? I'm guessing that you found a local dealer to purchase from, so that you did not need to get it from MPI? Are you going to use the NH or Mahindra to drag that thing around?

Bet your enjoying your new skid steer stuff.

Brian:
I did call MPI and the were way high. Got a 72" cat II, which looks just like yours, except they put the handle on backwards. It was about $2300.
Actually, had some problems with the skid steer stuff. Have to do some more mods on the bucket to get it to work, but rest of skid steer is doing fine.
Also, I added tilt to the 3pt from CCI. First time I used it I busted the anti sway bar in half. I adjusted the tilt all the way in and then lifted the 3pt. The sway bar hit the backhoe mount and crushed the bar. Called a couple of dealers and looks like about $160 for a new sway bar, can you believe it? So, have not used the new Gannon blade yet and can't put on my bucket. But, should be all fixed soon. Do you have your hoses coming straight out from the tilt to the back or have them turned? Can't figure out how I can use the top link holder when not using the 3pt with the hoses in the way.

Slippy, sorry to here that MPI couldn't help you out, wow prices have gone up, if I remember correctly I paid $1650 for my 81" Gannon from them. Could have been shipping? Anyway I have 90s on my cylinders and I have re-bent the top link holder to be able to hold the hydraulic cylinder when not in use. Not that that is of any use to you. Here is a pic of my setup.:)

Ok, nice work. In this pic http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...861d1177999613-7520-working-dirt-p4280001.jpg I see mountains in the background, which I understand is where your screen name comes from. That was the 1st pic. Now, in your last pic, http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...869d1177999995-7520-working-dirt-p4290023.jpg it appears you have smoothed out all the mountains. So, instead of MtViewRanch, I guess your now FlatPlainsVista.:D Once again, good job. Are you having to use 4wd all the time?

I know that you are just kidding about the mtns, the second pic is from another angle looking out and across to the east with no mtns. My land varies in elevation about 100'. I was filling in some gullies that had developed over time. I wanted to change that particular site into rolling terrain. I do almost everything in 4 wheel drive. Seems to be mostly a waist of time to try much of anything in 2wd. 4x4 is soooo much better.:)
