755 john deere compact utility tractor will not shut off.

I have just completed a full engine rebuild on my 755 compact utility john deere, it runs beautiful, but i have one slight problem tho. It wont shut off when i shut the key off. So i checked the fuel solenoid it works great. So i moved to the fuel pump, it works also, the key switch works also. So at this point the only way to shut off the tractor is to pull off the fuel line leading from the fuel filter to the injection pump, and it shuts off within 6-15 seconds and then i hook the line up and it will start right back up no problem. I am offically at a loss. Any ideas? thanks

That's why I don't want any of them there stinkin' hydrostats. Can't even put them in high gear and kill the engine when I needs to.

Yah i hear you there i hate this thing, but its a good little tractor but just a pain at the moment. If it needs the injection pump rebuilt im just gonna put a manual fuel shut off right before the injection pump

I'm sure someone will be along that knows a little about these diesel systems but I would think that the fuel solenoid is not doing it's job even though you mentioned checking it. Do you need to do a pressure test on the solenoid valve to make sure it is truly stopping the flow?

See if there is an adjustment knob on top of, or near, the solenoid. I am just taking a stab, because I am not familiar with the engine in the Jd755. But, the cummins in my Diamond Reo has a small knob on top off the fuel solenoid. If I turn it clockwise, the engine will run non-stop until it runs out of fuel regardless of the key position. Just look for a knob that seems out of place near the solenoid or injection pump. There should be a wire running to it as well.
