TC33DA
I have a TC33DA and am looking into getting a NH backhoe for it. I had been thinking of the 758C in order to get the longest reach and deepest digging depth. My dealer has recommended not to get the 758C as in his words "it is too much of a backhoe for the TC33DA", and has suggested the 757C instead. On the NH site, the TC33DA is listed as a compatible tractor for the 758C, and the weight difference between the two backhoes is only 28 lbs. I was hoping some people here could share some of their comments with me.
Thanks.

I've got a 758c on my 2120. I almost went for the 757 for the same reason. After stewing on it I had the dealer order the 758 and haven't regretted it. There have been some posts on here with members that have the same setup as you and the 758 and I don't recall anyone saying it was too big for the tractor. Your tractor is lighter than mine and it may pull your tractor around more, but you'll get used too it. Besides, you might get a bigger tractor someday. I'd go for the 758.

I have a 757-C on a TC-35D. I'm currenty using it to clear the woods behind my house. The only complaint I have is it seems to be about 12 to 18 inches too short on reach for what I want to do.
If I were you, and NH says a 758 will fit on the 33, I would go with the 758.

The NH dealer recommended (and I bought) a Brush Hog backhoe when I bought the TC30 last year. I suggest you check it out and the Woods model. From what I've heard about the Woods new subframe, I almost wish I had waited.

Everyone I know that has a hoe wishes they had the "extend a hoe" feature. I could use another foot and a half too. My advise, get the biggest hoe the machine will handle safely.

One beef I have about the NH is the long front brackets that the front of the subframe pin too. Maybe they are all like that, I dunno. The subframe is made to fit a range of tractors, with the difference being the bracket that attaches at the drawbar location, I believe. Not only do I lose a lot of ground clearance, because the brackets are so long, it gives the bh enough leverage to loosen up the bolts. A custom subframe which fit close to the tractor would be better. I don't know if anyone makes one or if the Woods setup is better. Just fyi.

Thanks for the info guys. I re-did my searches on the archives and found an old thread where someone was asking pretty much the same question only it was a 758C on a TC29DA, which is basically the same tractor as the TC33DA (my original searches were not far enough back).

I'm going to talk to my dealer in the morning and request the 758C. I've fired off an email to NH, to double check as well and to have a written response in case I ever have any warranty issues.

I really appreciate the comments.

The New Holland website shows the 758c backhoe is compatible with your tractor here

I'm probably the guy that asked the original question about the TC29DA and a 758c. Just to follow up - I did buy the 758c, and it works wonderfully with my TC29DA. Don't let the dealer talk you out of it. I've used it to dig trenches and remove over 50 stumps so far and it's been super. It is NOT too big for the TC29/33 tractors. In addition, the loader works much better for digging now with the additional weight on the rear.

I did have one problem that I attribute to the dealer - Within a few days of owning it, the 2 forward lower bolts that connect the subframe mount to the chassis of the tractor broke. I believe my dealer didn't tighten these enough. I had to use a bolt extraction tool to get them out. I replaced them with similar grade 8 bolts and tightened them with my impact wrench. No problems since!
