758c on a TC29DA?

I'm trying to decide which Backhoe to get for my TC29DA. From what I've heard, the 758c may be too big for my tractor - but I'd really like to get the larger backhoe for the additional digging force. What are the concerns with running the 758c on my tractor? Is it too much stress on the frame during use, or just too heavy to carry around? I also like the BushHog BH750, but I am concerned that it may be harder to install/remove than the NH.

Has anyone ever used a TC29 or TC33 with a 758c backhoe on it?

If I didn't go with a 758c, is the 757c strong enough to consistently fill an 18" bucket during a dig? Thoughts?

I have a 757c on my TC33D and have been more than pleased with its performance. No kidding, my ground is comprised of 50-60% rock and it can still dig through it. Sometimes it might take a little picking to start a hole. I have a heavy duty 16” bucket and the 757c has no problem picking rocks out of a hole which are bigger than the bucket. The trick is to get the center of the rock mostly in the bucket and then pinch the remainder between the bucket and its mounting arm. I don’t think you would be disappointed with a 757c on a TC29DA

I've got a TC33DA with a 758c backhoe and am quite happy with it. I had a woods 7500 on my 1510, and it was nice getting the extra reach with the 758c.

I've got a 758C, and as I recall, it was only slightly heavier and $600 more than the 757C. If NH lists it as a bh for your tractor, I'd go for it. OK, I just checked, and they list it for a TC25 and up. That extra reach is worth it.

Great news - thanks for all of the replies! I saw that the 758c wasn't much heavier and a 757c but my NH dealer was insistent that it would be too big of a backhoe. I am convinced that it should be fine now, I'll go for the 758c.

It may be on the heavy side for your tractor, but maybe you'll want a bigger tractor someday. Or maybe the dealer had a 757 in stock and had to order the 758. The backhoe will have the power to drag your tractor around, it does my 2120, but you will learn to use the curl function instead of just digging and pulling to compensate. My salesman had me talked into a 757, and after stewing on it after I went home, I called and insisted on a 758 and have no regrets.

Isn't the tc29d the same frame size etc as the tc33d? If so I believe the 758c is available as an option for the 33, why not on the 29. The 758c will give you a better reach as metioned above. You will find that alone is worth the extra money. The 758c may give you a little more power but the tractor's hydraulic pump capacity will dictate the final power and speed of the backhoe. If it doesn't void any warantee - why not. I'm sure you have already thought about this but definately go with the backhoe subframe. Just my thoughts. Good luck

Yeah, NH actually lists the 758c as one of the recommended backhoes for the TC29/33DA tractors. I guess I was just worried after my dealer said that it'd be too big.

Is the 758c easy to take on and off? I hear it's easier than the Bush Hog BH750, which was one of my big reasons for staying with NH.

I placed my order today for the 758c- thanks to you guys!

Yeah, it's easy. Level ground is the key. The hardest part for me is centering the tractor when backing up to the bh. Lately I've been using the bucket to shift the bh around to get the bracket centered in the subframe before lifting it into position.
