I struggled for a while with the decision between a 7510 and a 7610. One of the main reasons I went with a 7610 was that it says on Kubota's web site and in their hand out pamphlet on the B series tractors that the 7610 can handle a 5' brush hog and a 6' RFM. However, in the actual owners manual it recommends a 4' brush hog and a 5' RFM for the 7610. I am wondering why the discrepancy? I have already run a 5' brush hog and it did alright. It did bog down some and I had to go slow, but I was clearing some pretty thick stuff. I am wondering if it will in fact run a 6' RFM well or should I go with a 5'? Does anybody have a 7610 with a 6' RFM?

Your B7610 has 18 HP at the PTO.

As a comparison, I ran a 60" rear finishing mower on a Deere 670 (16.5 @ the PTO) with no problems. Using a modicum of common sense, I could have used a 72" mower...as your B7610 could.
As far as a rotary cutter, I bought a 60" Land Pride from a Kubota/Land Pride dealer. Although somewhat skeptical that my tractor could handle a 60" cutter, the dealer did state they sold these cutter for use with B7500's.
Well, it was a great match. There were times I couldn't take a full width pass (most of the stuff I was cutting was as tall as the cowl of that 670...some as tall as the ROPS)..

My current tractor, a Deere 790, does handle it easier, of course...but I think you'll find your B7610 will do an admirable job. In fact...you've already found that out, right?

I just got a 7610 FEL, 60" MMM, 42" used Bushhog squealer in June for my 2nd home in VT.

The power is impressive to me, having never owned a diesel before. I got the 42" Bhog because it was used ($500) and I need to back in to some tight spots and cut some almost 2" saplings. Works slick!

As far as power, the 72" swath RFM should be fine, but the problem with my 60" MMM is that a 60" swath is a lot of grass and if I cut long grass, being side discharge leaves 4" deep furrows of clippings . Looks like doo-dee. I put a bolt thru the chute in the MMM and jacked the chute up/open another 3/4 inch to spread the clippings but still not good.

If you go 72" get the rear discharge so the clippings are more spread out. I don't know, maybe all the larger RFM's are rear discharge?

The B7500 I had would pull a 60" RFM but it would run warmer than normal but I was usually cutting grass that was a little high.

We pull a 72" 1672 rear discharge landpride finishing mower with a B7610. Works good. I mow as fast as it will go in low range full throttle most of the time. It has power to go faster If I want but most of the ground it too rough any way. The only time I run out of power is on a very steep grade or if the grass gets taller than the front tires. I think the 60" mower recommendation is more of a weight issue than power. But with some common sense it works. A 72" mower has some weight to it and if you make sudden turns at high speed it can throw the tractor around. I operate on some steep slopes and the weight of the mower wants to drag the rear of the tractor down hill and can result in side ways slippage of the rear tires. Running the tires wide in back and rear weight helps alot in that situation. We also pull a 5' brush cutter and have no problems. If you have relatively flat lawn and keep it mowed regularly you should not have a issue with a 72" mower. If you need to mow up and down some pretty steep stuff alot of the time stay 60". I installed dual rear wheels for safety and mow across the slopes which works out well. Mowing up and down pond dikes is not a practical option.

You installed dual rear tires on a B7610? I'd be really interested in seeing a picture of that.

I'm interested too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Take a pic please.

Yes, me too. (sorry couldn't resist)

Curious as in to what kind of tires they are?

This is a photo of the 7610 with the duals on. Have the little sprayer on it in the photo, sorry it's not a better photo it wasn't intended to be a tractor photo originaly. Tires are R4's. Rims are standard 8 hole ag rims band spacers custom rolled, held together with 4 "J" bolts that hook into eye nuts I have installed on the inner rim. They go on in about 2-2.5 min and off in less than 1 using a impact wrench. I install and remove them all the time. The tractor is far more stable on the slopes.
