Dieselfuel , home heating oil and fuel oil are all the same thing here.

That doesn't sound good. Automotive diesel fuel is usually #1 in the summer and changed to #2 in the winter to prevent it turning to parafin from the cold. Burning diesel fuel in a home furnace would be a waste of money since heating oil is generally cheaper.

There is no difference between diesel fuel and heating oil here.

I hope the price is different at least - like no Road Tax on the heating fuel. Could be an opportunity for someone with a diesel vehicle to cheat Uncle Sam. How do you know that it's exactly the same?

1*They take diesel fuel and dye it red-There is no tax on the red stuff.
This can be used in vehicles or for heating homes.
2*Nope that's why it's red.
3*I can buy it from the bulk plant here that sells the diesel dyed or without the dye or from 2 distributors who says it all the same stuff also.
One of the distributors buys from the bulk plant.

They only have one fuel: The only choice you have is red or not red.

The Kubota diesels used in the Cub models that had them will run on either (farms typically receive untaxed dyed fuel in their tanks for agricultural use), but diesel engines tend to run better on pump diesel, especially that sold at more frequented pumps. This is because diesel fuel becomes stale quickly, and works better in engines when it is fresh and properly filtered.

The bulk plant here supplies the exact same fuel to the pumps that I can get directly from them, so how can it be any fresher from the pump when I got it before the pump did?
