I have a new (11 hours) 790 with a 300 FEL and Land Pride 60" Box Blade. I wanted to swap the front wheels to their wide position and tried to use the FEL to lift the front wheels to put jack stands under the front and the loader will not lift the wheels completely off the ground. The hydraulics were warm and the BB on the 3 point was lifted. The wheels unloaded their weight and I'm able to spin them with some effort (4WD is off) but certainly not off the ground 2-3 inches (not even 1/4 inch) as required to remove the loader and do some other items in the 300 owners manual. Is this normal/expected behavior? If so will the shim kit help and does anyone know if the shim kit is part #AM875169 or AM876765 from my parts CD.

Thanks,

I never had a problem with my old 790 lifting the front end, pulled the front tires many times to plug holes.

Are you rolling the bucket, or just trying to do it with the arms?

Mine won't either.

I gota roll the bucket forward if I want the tires off the ground.

I think that's normal, I thought he was saying he couldn't pick up the front end because the hydraulics aren't strong enough.

I don't think the arms will go down far enough to lift the front end, you have to roll the bucket. My new Kioti is the same way, but I don't think its a hydraulic issue, it's the design of the FEL arms and how far they'll travel.

What if you were to put bucket on a stump or something else and then try it again? Maybe a few concrete blocks
:)

When you start to lift the front, let off of the brakes with the clutch in. That way the rear wheels will roll, letting the front of the tractor go up.

How many hoses going to your lift arm cylinders? If 2, then you should have power up and down. If 1, it's power up, gravity down. Any pics of your setup?

I have to lower the loader then dump the bucket to get the tires off the ground. Since I had to do the same with my old 670 (basically the same as the 790 with a smaller engine, wheels and tires), I'd say it's normal.

Don't forget those jack stands!

I did that swap too. I gained 5" ± 1" width (with R-4 tires) but it sure feels better. Also, don't forget to increase the tire pressure when you use the loader.

Before I lowered the arms I lowered the bucket until the cutting edge is straight down and then I lowered the arms. That is what the owners manual says to do. I will try to unlock the brakes and try to rotate the bucket with the arms down. The bucket cylinders are double acting and the regen hydraulics are enabled so the bucket comes down under hydraulic power.

thanks,

bob

A couple of pictures of my setup, this with the front blade not the bucket which is what I have on now but don't have a picture of. Hope this works.
