Little help here JD guys. My cousin has a 790 he bought back in 2004. He loves it. He didn't get a loader I'm guessing because he wanted to save some money and didn't think he'd get much use out of it but, in my opinion the loader would've been worth it's weight in gold. Anyhow his tractor is loader ready so basically he just needs the loader. I'm trying to convience him to get one and that he wouldn't regrete it.

What's the average going price right now on loader for a 790?

Thanks.:)

On my 2-6-06 invoice, it shows $2500 for a 300 loader, HD bucket and toothbar fully installed. Steel prices have steadily climbed the past 12 months, so this price may not be fully up to date.

I have left my loader arms and brackets installed 100% of the time. I do take the bucket off quite often since I have pallet forks which I use also. The bucket can be taken on or off in about 1 minute by yourself or in 30 seconds if you have another person. All you do is remove the two lynch pins on the retaining cables and then get back on the tractor to move the controls. Having a helper lets you stay in the seat.

Thanks Lewis. I'd just like to see him get one because it not only helps with chores and what not but, makes work more enjoyable. Makes short work of a load of mulch to do landscaping work. Along with lifting things and who needs a wheel barrel with an FEL. The list can go on and on.

Just today shortly before heading to work I scratched up some gravel from the driveway, lifted up my central air unit, took the base platform out from underneath to raise the unit up because it was set in a low lying area. Put some fresh fill and gravel under base platform and set her back down. Then I was able to grab more fill and fill in that low area on that side of the house. Seeded and strawed it. I would have never been motivated to do this especially even start on it before I went to work if it hadn't been for the FEL. Just a good example of what got done before the weekend instead of waiting for someone to help me lift and block up the central air unit. Just one of many justified reasons to get an FEL with your CUTs.

Pricing may vary with regions but I purchased my loader seperatly in March of this year. I paid $2860 tax and all with a heavy duty bucket in western NC. I installed it myself. It wasnt to bad to put on.

Thanks uptaker73. It is a little chunk of change. It's really worth it to just finance it with the tractor but, that's a missed opportunity to speak about now. Thanks for the reply.:)
