790 won't start please help

i was using my 790 w/ the pto going and i had to shut it down while running the pto i went to go start it back up put the pto out of gear and trans in n and now it won't start seems to act like it would if the pto was still engaged or it was in gear. anyway is there a way to test if its a safety switch thats causing the issue? i checked the fuses all are good battery has juice. could it be a bad seat switch? anyway to bypass anyof the switches so it will start in order to get it home, right now its out at the edge of a field where we were doing some brush clearing, any help would be great.

According to the schematic, the switch is closed when PTO is disengaged.


Edit; Same with the neutral switch.

Sure sounds like your neutral safety switch is bad, but I would think there's a sensor or micro switch of some sort down by the PTO linkage. If so, that might be knocked awry.

You really want a schematic to review. If you don't have a shop manual, I suggest going to your dealer and get a copy of the schematic that applies to your tractor.
My shop manual is for the early 790's (actually a 670/770/870/970 manual with an addendum for the 790) so if you have a newer 790, it probably wouldn't help.

As far as bypassing the seat switch, I'm sure you can do it...but you'll want that schematic to figure out which wires to connect.

You could tow your tractor closer to the house. If the cutter is on the ground, you'll have to disconnect it from the tractor and tow it separately.
