regarding steel: many years ago when I took structural steel design at school live and dead loads were calculated and then the last thing to do before spec-ing was to add 10% to the loads in case Japanese steel was used in the actual construction instead of American or German steel. In other words, additional safety factor was added in case "substandard" Japanese steel was used. Although I have no evidence, I would bet that that Japanese steel was just fine. Just like Korean steel is probably just fine too.

Please excuse the horrible sentence structure, LOL. I'll just leave it as is.

I suspect you are right. There may well be differences in NASA grade metals but tractor grade steel can and is made to identical standard in many countries today. Korea and India have invested more in modern steel plants over the past 25 years than the U.S., Germany, or Japan. China can make metals good enough to land a moon rover and India can send a satellite to Mars.

I'd say the burden of proof is on anyone who believes Kubota uses higher quality steel or castings than Mahindra or Kioti

I think you'll find because of labor costs here American steal has had to modernize and that some of the best steal now comes from USA. There's a special about it on history channel or one of those. HS

For very high tech military grade steels I am sure you are correct but tractor steel and cast iron are commodity level and many countries produce equally good product. Look at figures for steel production worldwide and who owns the steel plants that supply major shipbuilders. It's not like the Korean or Indian steel plants are old outdated technology.

oh, I agree, S. Korea ship building is a world leader, and all Korean products are getting notice. I certainly don't think subpar steal is used in Kioti's, that's just bunk. Could a load of bad steal effect a few builds that now get attention, that's possible. We are all at risk of that type of thing in worldwide-spread parts productions. What I was trying to bring to attention was the S Korean company investing in the moderation of a tractor company and its manufacturing design and dealer support effort making a big splash over the last seven years has been LS not Kioti and LS is now the leading tractor manufacture in Korea. I think Kioti is benefiting from pressure put on by LS's surge and have started modernizing their factories and adopting CAD and robotic production lines. Look for New Kioti models to be much improved over older ones. I can understand how new model owners are excited to pronounce their quality. My biggest concern is the expansion into China by both these companies and tractors and parts for export flowing back from China, because Chinese companies can't be trusted yet to play fair and make a quality product. Ovr N Out,

Sometimes when I get off my L3800 seat, the tractor cuts off (not talking about when the PTO is running because it should cut off then). Anyway, I'm assuming it's a faulty switch or something, but only see one switch under my seat. I assume that switch is the safety switch to shut the tractor down if I stand up when PTO is engaged.

What should I look for to fix this where it will stay running like it used to when I put brake on and get off?

Not Ovr N Out, but what I'd look at is the neutral sensing switch on the HST forward-neutral-reverse pedal. Lubricate the pedal Zerk fitting so it can "re-center" easily.

Yes, i agree with that, i sent you a message tractorshopper in more detail & how to troubleshoot to be sure its not the seat switch. Bumper would assume its an HST, and your correct. Thats where my money is going to go.

Thanks Bumperm and OvrNOut. I'm going to check this tomorrow am. Makes sense to me.

Past weekend I tried to find a zerk for the treadle and was unsuccessful. I see one for the brakes, but not the treadle. Didn't have a lot of time to grab the manual and crawl further underneath, but I rocked the pedal back and forth repeatedly and didn't feel any binding or anything. I started the tractor and tried things out and everything seemed to work as it should. I'm not sure what the issue was. I also slightly bent the seat tab down to make sure it had good contact with the seat switch. I couldn't replicate my problem, so I guess all is well.

Don't you just hate it when problems disappear without a definitive cause and (cheap) solution? Hope the gremlins have moved to another universe and don't return.
