Well have I T manual I know about the return line under v cover, and book talks about o ring and u seal at pump shaft but doesn't show ether one don't seem to type in rt to get info on line .would guess seals under pump sense have to reprime after pan fill's with fuel with shut off valve turned off so sense oil is expensive I drain fuel when shut down. Now that's said the pump drive shaft it's talking about is it run up the bottom of pump or under the drive gear towards crank???? Sorry about no punctuation's didn't do well in English class lol

that machine has a roosa master pump.. it fits on that diesel where a distribuitor would have on a gasser.

you can hit the CNH parts site for an 'interior' engine parts diagram.

here is a test.

with good oil in the pan, and fuel valve off, if it gets oil in the pan, i'd be checking the stand pipe int he tank and leak off lines.

fuel valve off, means no fuel to the pump.. that means fuel can only be getting in one. place.

From front of tank that over flow well that's cheaper than pulling the pump thx

Ya but y know how that goes its welded on their have most of a light duty 4000 identical to my 841 will switch tanks needed an input shaft couldn't find one when saved cash so now transmission back is 4000 4 speed with Sherman reversing gear when get PS pump will Change out to heavy non adjustable front end with power assist may be a while have hyd reg thought about coming off axillary?? Just a thought thanks for hlp Danny

I couldn't quite parse all that.. but sounded like you were asking about running the hyds off the engine pump via a remote line?

I wouldn't.

1, your engine pump is limited volume. 2.9-4gpm at max rpm, depending on which pump you have.

2, if you went with a priority valve, you'd loose rear hyds mostly.

3, lastly... relief for your rear hyds is way higher than the ps pumps relief originally. like 2.5x etc.

Was thinking about trying to add power steering to it with a regulator added to bring down to between 700&800 psi pump on 172 in 4 cyl is from 841 heavy duty 57/62 (engine and pump transmission hyd reservoir, and rear end is 4000 light duty industrial 57or 58 not sure on start yr /62 numbers ate off re battery acid. Only difference two tractors is lifting strength (1200 lbs on 841 / 3200 lbs on 4000 . Not sure if gets extra power from pump or what's under seat haven't done enough homework on that if not from pump wouldn't have thought would noticed except maybe when using pto first time funds made difference on how long have to wait for parts. Tried to squeeze a PS pump from dodge one ton in their .fuel tank and reservoir didn't get along Lol 😁 tried didn't realize ford reservoir mounted on rear u may be right through and been out of work force a while things have tripled in price couldn't believe it last tee post I bought was under 2 bucks now over 4 o well crying now trying to make it work u know

I extremly doubt 3200# rear lift... I think you might be looking at a 3cyl 4000's lift capacity. there just isn't that much cyl under that lift cover... and those are common parts for that line of tractor... ditto on the engine mounted pump..

It's not getting that extra power from anywhere but a different tractor!

I installed a cheap plastic inline fuel shut off valve in my return line to the pump, as well as one between fuel pump and filter. Now I just close off both of those valves when I park my 861D instead of the shut off under the fuel tank. My shut off under the fuel tank had to be repaired due to leaking, so now I no longer need to use it unless changing the fuel filter. The shut off in the return line also slowed down my fuel from draining back into my oil when I was parked for long periods of time.
