843 Auxiliary hydraulics

I have a earlier 1990's 843 bobcat, I have had it for years never had an attechment that needed the auxiliary hydraulics now I have the need and have no idea how they work, I cant find a switch or a pedal. I have the lines hooked up but no Hydraulics. Is there a swith or something I am missing? How do they get turned on? Thanks for your time

Your right side steering lever controls the auxilary hydraulics. It will operate both directions which will change the flow to your attachment. Pull the lever toward you or push the lever away from you and you should have hydraulic flow. On the 843 if you push the lever away enough it has a detent and will lock in place so you won't have to hold it over there. The steering function will still operate as normal with the hydraulics locked in. Be careful though a lot of new operators will lock it in, turn the machine off and then the machine will have a hard time starting. This has happened to almost everyone. Also the lift and tilt function does not work well when aux. hydraulics is on.

If the auxiliary has never been used, there may be a locking pin in the linkage that you will have to remove if lever does shift side to side.

Hey thanks, I honestly never noticed that about that machine. I tried them last night they work but they wont lock to stat engaged, I have to hold the handle in either direction, Would that be just wear on the handle lock? simple fix or something major? Thanks for your time.

You could raise the cab and see how it works and if there is a simple fix. I have seen a few that use a rubber strap to hold the lever over but that may not be the best solution from a safety standpoint.
