870 wont start, no power at dash

check the large 60 amp fuse located next to the starter...if i remember correctly. this is a main fuse

Try putting your positive voltmeter lead on the large cable connection on the starter and the negative on the frame. Turn on the switch and see if voltage goes away there also. If it does, you have a bad cable or connection. Then try touching negative lead to battery post. If voltage stays good, then the negative cable is bad or cable connection to frame is bad. If voltage still drops, then the positive cable is bad. .

See if the seat switch is blocked. Also push the seat forward and pull up the safety switch to allow you to start it without being on the tractor.

Bad ground. Have redone ground twice on mine
