First report after two hours of work on the first tire.

1. I got the tire off, pulled the tube out and cleaned up the rust around the rim.

2. I used my strap to try to get the tire to jump on the rim. Strap broke.

Boy that foam fill sure is looking good right now.

My back is killing me.

I gonna use a bigger strap. If that won't work I'll buy the new tires and have them filled.

Whatcha usin a strap fer? I only use straps on tubless tires... ( and that's why I like tubes in my tractor tires.. just get the tire onthe rim and let physics do all the hard work of seating the bead... lube helps.. more is better.. vegi-based only! ) If those tires are tubed.. you just lube the bead with vegi-bead soap and then inflate the tubes to seat the bead.. if any part sticks, you can air em up a hair more and beat ont he side o fthe tire.. or drive em a few minutes.. then de-flate to proper pressure...

I got to work cleaning up the rim today with the grinder and wire brush.

After that I put the tire back on and wrapped the 2in ratchet strap around the tire and cinched as tight as possible and tried to air it up.

No luck.

I'll try a new tire this weekend but the foam is looking pretty good right about now.

Right now it's Advil time. DSCN1824.JPG
