8N keeps breaking starter drives

time to add a 20$ ring gear 
I am having the same problem with my 2-n, when I converted it to 12 volt it was fine, but when my starter drive failed I purchased the new style ratcheting drive, and I just broke my third gear, if anyone knows of a better starter drive, please let me know where I can purchase one, I checked with Steiner, and All states ag and they only have the ratcheting style

yup.. not many people making them.
What's the condition of the ring gear, is it chewed up?
