Hey fellas just found out about this site and can't wait to get back home on the computer to look at all this information better. But I'm up here at farm(N missouri) and our 8n won't stay running. Battery and generator all tested fine. Went through all the wires to back sure no bare spots. If we jump it, runs anywhere from 2 minutes to hour or so. Any ideas???? Thanks in advance and look forward to reading this forum in the years to come

How does it shut down when it stops running?
Start to miss a lot at first, or lose power and stop, smoke a lot before stopping, stop like turning the key off? Or what?
Is the generator not charging the battery? Can you jump start it immediately after it shuts down or have to wait to charge the battery?

at stall, check spark.. if it has spark.. it's a fuel issue ( which it DOES sound like ).
is this a front mount or side mount N.

Alright now its dark out. Was messin around with it pullin plugs wires re attaching them. After couple hours it started up. Ran for about 2 minutes and bam died!!!! Its a side mount. Have spark at plugs. I'm baffled with no where to go

if it won't start and you have good blue/white spark at the plugs, then look at fuel. ( orange / red spark won't cut it ).
first thing I'd do is get a glass jar and pull the plug on the bottom of the carb and watch the fuel drain. if it drips out or is empty.. you know there is a issue.. either at the tank tap.. or the flaot / valve.

Will do sir. She's out in a field for the night but I will get back to you guys tmrw. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Appreciate the quick responses!!!! This old N has been good but since june she's been struggling. We first thought it was electrical and replaced pretty much everything electrical. Wish I woulda found this place months ago. My food plots have been on fritz with this problem

starts and stalls generally is a fuel issue. can be electrical.. but with a spark check it's easy to test.

Run a 2oz per gallon mix of Sea Foam. It may or may not help the running but it sure will clean up the fuel system and remove the piston carbon.
Sounds like you may have trash gathering around where the fuel drains from the tank? i agree with the others it sounds fuel related at this point.

Hi Guys whats up ? Say i hope you all can help me with this my Case 480C 's got a Borg Warner Power Shuttle Transmission i overhauled it myself and changer to foward clutches. Now when i test it is pumping all the oil into the torque converter till it overflows while the sump reading shows empty ( oil not returning) Is this Air ? Do i need to purge system ? Thanks JON
