9 years from my original Battery

Dont think Ive ever had a battery last that long in my lifetime.

Any particular make that most are using as a replacement? Original kubota battery just too high dollar for me :(

10+ year life is common for an OEM battery these days so long as it is not abused, e.g., run flat or left in unused state for months without recharging.

Running a battery flat a time or two or failing to recharge every 4-5 weeks during long periods of non use will shorten the life significantly.

Most quality 12 V (not 6V) replacement batteries will exhibit similar life time in similar conditions.

In addition to the type of the battery you buy is the fact it needs to be maintained. Many threads have talked of the necessity to maintain a full charge over the winter by charging fully in the fall. The low charge apparently a big factor in battery life.

2 words....battery tender... on every battery in my shop (2 tractors, ATV, UTV and Honda generator). Plug them up every day when not in use..I've bought 1 battery in 18 years...you can catch them on sale at Costco for about $36... charges and then goes into storage mode. One of my best investments

Well this is my 'Battery Year'.
Tractor one was going south so I replaced for peace of mind. (it was a hand me down from my old truck)
My car, Kia is a 2011 and due to a faulty fan relay totally discharged twice so I replaced it as well.
So no matter haw cold it gets everything starts.
Life is good.

Back when I was a sales rep with company cars I'd change battery every 2 years as a battery was the price of a tow truck boosting and I never had to wait for it to arrive.
Also being an the road out of town I would never know who to call.
Often on cold winter days I'd be one of the very few to make early sales calls.

Back then many reps had the devices that started the car every 3 hours simply to keep up the battery as well as the engine somewhat warm.
LOL, you soon learned not to take downstairs outside room as all night you'd hear car and truck engines starting up.

^This^ Little sealed Deltran tender on everything with a battery. Easy to unplug the pigtail when time to run <the kid's car stored her while he's in Japan/tractors/trucks/boat/generator> and they're always ready to go.

Just bought a l3240 that was originally purchease in December of 2007, still has original battery. I'm keeping it on a battery tender...we'll see how long it lasts.
