90" of snow and still snowing

Dang I shouldn't complain about the 27" we have gotten. Been working my land pride snow blade. This would be the most since we moved up here 4 years ago.

Wow , 200 inches is a LOT so far. It must not collect on your roof ? I have shoveled my roofs three times so far. Does the wind keep much of the snow blown off your roof? Just 91" we are now standing half way up our house shoveling the roofs.
I agree when dressed warm it feels great being outside in the winter plowing snow without a cab.
I agree buying a new tractor and snowblower does reduce the snowfall in that area, lol
Lake effect snow does not effect many parts of Michigan but Gaylord is one spot in lower michigan that gets hammered every year until the lakes freeze over.

Of course we need to shovel our roofs off. We just did ours yesterday! Some people have down theirs twice by now. I'll attach a photo to show what our garden and yard looks like now. The last one is up at Twin Lakes DNR offices and they get a bit more then we do in the low country..
Are you sure Gaylord gets hammered with snow? I just searched google who says they average 140" per year.

Ahhh, but when you are dressed properly it is so enjoyable to be outside in the fresh air. One thing is for sure... There are no rattle snakes waiting to attack (see the current "rural living" thread). I'll take snow for a "few" months of the year over tornados, hurricanes, oppressive heat, or attacking critters.
We are promised a foot on Wednesday - sure hope it comes through!

Each to their own, I will take the oppressive heat, and attacking critters, and a few twisters any day over that snow...Nope, aint gonna go there. ...

Many go south for a vacation from winter, so they agree with you. Do consider a vacation north in July/August. We are running low to mid 80s, everything is lush and great scenery, water and wilderness. If you can stand a few days of 50s then visit in late September or early October to enjoy our vivid autumn colors.
No passport? No worries visit our next door neighbors in Maine. Great people. Enjoyable accent. (We Canadians don't have an accent, eh). ;-)

Lower Michigan and upper Michigan are very different winters , different worlds , we get hammered as far as lower michigan goes. Most areas in lower michigan get less that 50" . So our 150" average is hammered to us, ha,ha. We tried Florida for a couple months one year and never went back. Not our thing !! We just adapt over the years to our surroundings and see the positive of it. That's how many people look at things. Alaska and the U.P. are very similar , very harsh winters. Our winters are not harsh with just 150" average snowfall.

We'd agree with you Waldon. All the people down south say "how can you take that??!!??" Then they run inside and turn the AC on. We have no AC in our house but sure do enjoy the skiing (that's XC) for about 6 months. Go to the dogs blog to see just how awful that life is. :) The Trail Mutt Reports
