I used my mid mount mower this past week. I was hoping that it would be good to use on my back fields. Unfortunately the fields aren't ready for a finish mower. This mower came with my tractor. It is in very good shape. What would be a good selling price? Anyone care to take a stab at this?

My 5' 914A was listed on my receipt as $2200 3 years ago. Not that you can get info from that other than they are expensive as mowers go and if you hope to have your back fields in shape for a finish mower some day, you might want to hang onto it. It will be a chuck of change to replace down the road.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply. I bought my tractor used and since I couldn't talk the guy down in the price he threw in the mower and post hole auger. It does a good job on existing lawns but my TC30 is a little big to be buzzing around the wife's flowers. :) I may mothball it and see what happens. There are other implements that I need at the moment.

Nomoregears,

Not sure of the actual price you can get but I was given a list price of $2,700 when I bought my tractor two years ago. It was part of the tractor package. I believe that you might get about half that since it takes a fair amount of time to mount the suspension parts for the mower. Don't know how true but 3-4 hours sticks in my head. This also means that you will need to take those components off.

You might want to check the local dealers. Their price will be low but you may be able to determine the demand from them.

$2700-$2800 sounds about right. Rmoving MMM takes 5 mins. Reattaching is the same. I have FEL mounted, take out 4 pins, unhook mid PTO, lift front tires, slide it out. To remove MMM's brackets takes about 15 mins. Remove 4 bolts, unhook springs. This only need be done to attach a sub frame. Say for a front blade, blower or maybe a hoe. Some MMM brackets stay with tractor all the time, they are the pieces the springs hook to on the 3pt. arms. Initial install would take a little longer. May be an hour. Dealer did mine. Greg

when i was looking for a used tractor i wanted a 72" MMM (914A) all 3 dealers i went to quoted me a price of about $3K new.

i would have jumped on one that was 2K with all the hardware to mount it.

I dug out my reciept. $2850. 72" MMM rear discharge. Installed. Does real nice job on lawn. Never tried using it as a hog. Greg
