Not the exact same issue.. but I have a 98 dodge ram with the hi capacity fuel tank ( 30g or so.. ) One day i was driving, had low fuel.. like 1/8 tank, and was setting up a hill at a red light.. truck stalled.. got it off the road.. never got it to start..had it towed to a shop. While talking tot he mechanic as he was looking at it, i mentioned that it had had less power the last couple weeks, hard starting.. ( sounde dlike a diesel on a cold morning... just cranking.. etc.. ) and a hesitation sometimes. So he checks the fuel pressure, and the pump was only making 6psi.. needed more like 60 psi he said /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Ended up being a combination of dirty filter / bad fuel pump.. which are a single 550$ unit on that truck i found out.

Later that year i had a TPS go out.. it showed up as irregular idling and an occasional 'shudder' while going down the road...

Hey, thanks for all the input. This gives me a few ideas to pursue on my own and some ideas to approach the garage with if it ends up going back.

This has been one reliable truck over its lifetime so I can't complain too bad. And of course you never realize how much you miss it 'til it's not working.

My truck started doing this and the pump was pooped out. I'm on the fuel pump bandwagon also.......
