My hydrostatic transmission is leaking at the seal where the rocker shaft enters the housing (actuated by the forward/reverse pedals) Anyone have experience with this. What do I need to do to fix it? Does the whole thing need to come out? It looks like it.
Or should I leave this to the dealer mechanics at God only know what cost.

I would say it depends on how bad it's leaking. I know on my 755 that the area is wet, but it doesn't dip. If you're is wet I'd say leave it alone, but if you're leaving a trail of oil behind when you drive the tractor you probably should get it looked at.

I took a quick look at jpparts and there is a seal and a trunnion you could replace pretty easy by the looks of it.

Did you fix it yourself or have a dealer do it? My started leaking today in the same spot.
