I have been eyeballing a 5103 for a while and also have looked at the 05 which is of course more expensive. Sat on a 990 the other day and liked the size. As far as loader work with the 4wd 990 vs loader work with the 2wd 5103 (heavier with 10 more horses), what is you all's opinion about the 990 vs the 5103? I don't anticipate doing any loader work for hire so it will be around the place moving rocks, prickly pear, and some road work and some dirt moving. I may spring for the 5105, but if it proves too rich for me, then I think I am looking at 990 or 03.

Thanks for any insights. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When a loader is involed, I think 4wd is a must..I spent almost $4700 on a loader for an older Case 2wd (70hp) and have since regretted it..Not enough traction on rear tires when bucket is loaded along with a few other problems..I am now in the market for a 4wd tractor..Looking at the 5105 for weight & draft control..Best price I have found is $23,650 for it with qa loader/bucket, one remote, and canopy..Also looking at the Kubota M4900..As the saying goes, you can do a little job with a big tractor, but not a big job with a little tractor..
