Have any of the other 990 owners out there notice a small amount of engine oil coming from a small hole under the tractor? It's not enough to leak on the ground but you can see a slight amount around the hole. The hole is in the center of the underside of the tractor. You will see two rubber plugs filling 2 other holes and you should be able to see this if you are greasing your brake pedals. I would say it's fairly close to the main engine oil plug. I looked at our 970 but did not see any slight trace of engine oil and just wondered if anyone else noticed this. Thanks.

Bill,

Thanks for checking for me. I looked the other day and it did not seem like any more oil was coming out but I still don't get if it's a breather hole or something. I really have no clue to what it is. Maybe if I run it again it will start to leak slowly. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hello Nick and Bill,

I, too, don't get to live with our 990. This weekend would be the earliest I could check.

Hi

My toy is parked in the driveway, but it's been too cold, snowy, and windy to crawl under it this week. I will take a look next time I roll it into the shop for a check...

I thought the extra holes were for a skid plate mount or a mid PTO option.

Sorry to get back to you so late ,,, Work here is just off the wall , running 2 operators short due to medical issuses .... OT big time ... to bad the wife gets it first ,,, she works finance on the day shift here ...

Any way to your question I was able to get to the farm and crawl under her and look around .... Cann't say for sure if I found the holes you are talking about /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifbut one thing is sure that it is all dry under my 990, no oil spots , no oil weeping any were at this time , will keep an eye out ... Hope you do not have any problems .

I would not call it a problem but a new tractor question. I'll have to check next week when I see it since I had a chance to use it today.

I checked this weekend. I found no oil drips. There's only 12 hours on the meter, though, so that may be the difference.

I've only got 11. I could always ask a tech at work but I thought since you guys also own them I would ask you first. So thank you for all the replies.
