Show us your bill for TBN.

Very cute. It's buried in my Messick's invoice, my cable bill, my wasted time waiting for ads, and my investment in desktop equipment that runs fast enough to make it possible. It's not free--believe it or not.

Let's see; advertisers clog up the 'net sending stuff that people routinely block from their displays--after their PC has burned cpu cycles executing software to read the packet header. TV shows have 40-45 minutes of content per hour, the rest is ads people skip over--after those ads have taken cable bandwidth. You think this is smart? Free? Advertising imposes a useless burden across the entire internet and cable system.

So how do you propose to pay for all this stuff you want for free?

And please don't tell my you put a value on your time, because you spend almost as much time here as I do!

That's a good question. But that is for folks in the advertising biz to figure out. I think there are diminishing returns on the current set up. Who would pay for ads that people don't watch or see?

Incidentally, I didn't say I want it for free. Surely there is a way to market and advertise that doesn't hose the system and make people find ways to ignore it. I linked one example approach to you earlier for Revision Energy and their monthly email.

There is valuable marketing survey content on this site. Many "free" opinions, prejudices, likes and dislikes, preferences that can be learned just by reading. More is added everyday. 90% of TBN members aren't unqualified sales prospects, they already own tractors and likely plan to buy another or more implements. The way I see it, we are making someone's job a lot easier if they listen; and I'm not even asking for money.

Have you ever read about google's AdSense?

Free?! Please.:confused2: There is no such thing as FREE. Movies and TV have stooped so low as to plug products blatantly, including having show stars smoke cigarettes, still!!
It's unconscionable and disgusting how many stupid car and truck ads are shown in a row, time after time in every show that uses advertising on TV.
Seems like most homes I visit have the TV running constantly with the volume blasting and the ads too.
I've said I do everything possible to block all ads on TV and TBN and elsewhere by using what is available to eliminate them from my life. Thanks to DVRs I can skip any ad known to mankind. Who wants the mindless brain pollution?
If grocery stores, car dealers and similar ilk stopped using print and TV ads consumers would pay a LOT less for products. Its not like the consumer will stop buying food or cars. Some ads are beyond ridiculous. $10968 off a king size muppet powered truck with water powered seat coolers?! Rebates or 0% forever. It's already built into the price. There is no such thing as free, and 0% isn't the best deal; its what they want you to buy, and for the price they are selling you. Wake up America, you're getting your azz handed to you every day by the marketing geniuses.

Where? I want one.

On a side note, I picked up an article the other day about "sound" on the new 150's and Mustangs. Seems "sound" is being enhanced by computer chips. A different form of advertising.
