A/C Temperature?

My experience working on tractor A/C systems (Specifically Ford and New Holland) does not agree with the commentary regarding recirculation.

Don't know about other brands but with the Deere cab I have there is no place for a high flow of air to exhaust from the cab to the outside. In order to have a high flow at the vents it has to recirculate.

You may not be referring to an '80 model Ford but my Ford 6700 has air re-circulation door behind the operators head. I think my 5610 had a similar door also.

I'm going to clarify my thoughts a little here and then I'm going to exit this thread. I know enough about A/C to have successfully serviced a few dozen or more systems in tractors. Most, if not all have operable recirculation vents that in my neck of the woods generally are closed to recirculation more often than open. For purposes of troubleshooting and repair, a system that is capable of vent temps 30 degrees below ambient measured at the vent when drawing the maximum possible volume of air from outside is considered to be fully functional. Recirculation of cooled air will drop the vent temps and cab climate further. Whether or not anyone accepts these comments as valid is totally immaterial to me, I'll sleep OK tonight one way or another. I have a satisfied customer base and a reputation as a decent (or better) service tech when I was so occupied, and that's what I care about.

Very good explanation:thumbsup: Rick. 30 degree's is what I was taught.:)

I think most of us agree with a 30 degree drop at the vents.

Experience, very handy to have

Problem Solved!!! If I have this right, there are two heater hoses coming from the engine that eventually traverse through the top of the cab to allow a change in temperature of the ac/heat system. The hoses were hooked up backwards where the enter the bottom of the cab. The air is now blowing very cold! Hopefully, this will help any of you who have the new 5055e-5075e cabs that do not blow cold air.

Good to hear you have it fixed.

I know you need the air to work in the Delta for sure.

Very good fix. Many heater coolant valves rely on pressure/flow to seal properly so being backwards it would never stop the coolant flow completely.
Glad you got it.

The man on the service truck seemed like a **** good and knowledgeable mechanic/trouble-shooter. He had to work on the a/c 3 times to finally resolve this. Once, he replaced a faulty water valve and once JD sent him the wrong a/c line part to replace. He seemed to really enjoy his job and was always upbeat and in a good mood....even when he wasn't able to arrive until well after 5:00 after working hard all day only to work much later on my tractor. He seemed determined to resolve the problem. I was very impressed with him.

Probably some guy on the assembly line did it to mess with a poor mechanic.

That can happen. Many years ago there was a rumor going around and heard it enough to believe it, that somebody on the auto assy like would drop his pop bottle down in the door before installing the upholstery to help and deal with their boredom......and then there was a guy out in California that drove or pushed a Ford Pinto off the top of a stack of them (seems they stacked them vertically at the factory to free up floor space awaiting shipment) onto the floor, some 15+ feet high. I saw pictures of this one....fact.

In my case it turned out to be a rupture in the evaporator….had to lift the `house` up a bit to get to it and replace…..Dealer `stood` for the costs……Tony

I just got a new B2650 and tried the a/c today and all it did was blow warm air . I looked at the sight window the manual says to look at and it is clear as a bell which according to the manual says it has to much gas or none , I am thinking none or very low . The dealer is 60 miles away , you would think they would check things out before delivery .

I'd suggest to get someone local with a set of gauges to check the coolant charge pressures.

I'll call the dealer Tuesday , I'm sure he will take care of the problem . Thanks for the input Tx Jim

Up date on the A/C problem on B2650 . When they mounted the radio as they were pushing in the mounting bracket it disconnected some wiring for the A/C.

In my case the a/c was not fixed, as it now just blows warm air….Talked to the dealer, who says i`l have to have it fixed myself….Bobcat was delivered with several things that were wrong--one in particular was the broken jerk that let the grease out on the track, which then came off…Took me two times before I got that fixed, only to find out it was a known problem. Then a leaking oil fitting….Unfortunately the dealer here in Chas s c does not have a decent mechanic, so I go to the Kubota dealer, who is reputable……I really wonder why the manufacturer does not have a thorough checking system…I purchased because made in usa means something to some American human being, but one can experience for themselves how other Americans in the chain , can sour the situation for everyone…..I`l report how the outside repair turns out Tony
