1. Is there any reason to spray Crossbow (~$155 for 2.5 gallons) on lawns if you don't have blackberries?

2. So, instead of Crossbow, you choose to use Weedmaster (about $84 for 2.5 gallons) or Weedar 64 (~$40) on lawn weeds. Is one better than the other?

Any other suggestions?

What are you trying to kill off? just dandelions and other broad leaf?

Looks like
Crossbow is 2,4,d and triclopyr
Weedmaster is 2,4,d and dicamba
Weedar is straight 2,4,d

If you are just after the 'soft' stuff, not killing woody plants 2,4,d works great. I find it very effective on dandelions, alfalfa, red clover etc. and moderately effective on white clover, mallow and black medic. I buy the generic at my local farm&garden store.

If you are trying to get rid of white clover and black medic I recommend Wipe Out. Works slow but is effective. Wipe Out contains 2,4-D, MCPP and Dicamba in low concentrations.
