Your 8n is in darn good shape and would bring $$$ up in these parts,for the last couple of years they seem to be in demand again.

Your friends 620 he better hang on to for they are becoming rare.
Never really understood why the 420&520&620&720 John Deere never caught onto the farmers,all 4 models had a short life span..1956 to 1958.
Have you ever seen a JD720 propane when pulling..talk about some real old fashion horse power. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
Grant,maybe your friend would know this question I have,did JD have a 620 propane tractor at one time?

Ahhh do you remember those JD fly wheels which was needed to start the engine...now thats going back in time. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thomas, when the 620 line was made, they had gasoline, all fuel and LPG. This is also true for the 420,520 and 720 also.

Anyone else ever seen a 435 JD? It was the diesel version of the 430 and used a 2-53 Detroit Diesel (GMC they called it back then)

I've never seen a 435 JD. In fact this 620 is about the only older JD I've been around. With 2 cylinders, power steering and a hand clutch it's kind of fun to pull the brush hog with. Growing up I learned to drive my grandfather's M's, a Super M and an AC WD-45. Later he and my father bought a used Case 1270 with duals and a 21 foot Krause disk among other things. Sometime later I'm going to get a smaller disk for my future compact tractor and it will feel strange compared to that bigger one. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
