Might be a couple of days but will try to give better location soon...

Dale

Thanks Dale, would much appreciate it! As for that fitting, I'm just gonna unscrew it, measure it with a caliper...ocassionaly, basic ideas come to me eventually lol.

I was under there looking for zerks to hit with the grease gun, noticed 2 weird things, well 3 actually.

First is, the manual says there's a brake pivot to lube, but I just couldn't find that zerk. Is there one for that or do I just smear some grease on there?

Also, the zerk I did find on that side was farther back, I guess it's pivot for the 3-point, and it's in a ridiculous spot...there's no way I can get my grease coupler on it because it's almost butting against the pivot housing, plus it's in tight spot a normal coupler couldn't get to anyways. How are you guys greasing it?

Another strange thing is on the hydro pedal side. There's a hydraulic hose routed over the linkage, and the linkage is brushing against it with every push of the pedal. Is that normal? The hose has that fabric sleeve, and you could actually hear it scraping against the sleeve when I was moving the pedal back/forth with my hand. I smeared a bunch of grease on the sleeve over there hoping that would help.

Oh yeh one other thing, unrelated to all this. This tractor has like 75 hours on it, had the 50 hr service, oil seemed good a few days ago. I pull the oil dip stick today, the oil is dark. How is that possible? I've been clearing a bunch of brush and working the tractor in the dirt, digging out root balls with the backhoe and leveling dirt. Is that really enough to gunk up the oil that fast?

My grease gun coupler fits fine. I have a 36" flex hose. It's a bit of a strain on the hose, but it still pumps the grease in there. There are 4 grease fittings under that tractor.

I have a Milwaukee M18 cordless grease gun. Perfect for a backhoe with lots of fittings.

I'm pretty sure that the rest of your questions have been answered pretty well.

Do that 50hr service. Get those metal filings out of there.

If oil is not getting dirty pretty quickly, it is not doing its job.

About brake pivot that needs to be lubed.... First an apology because I though there were 2 but I can only find 1..... On my 1715 its on the sleeve the brake pivot rod rotates in, and it is about 3 inches towards center from right frame member (from operators position).... On the sleeve right near the drive shaft to front differential...

Great, thanks Dale. I didn't see the zerk on the left side either (the one you x'ed out), and they don't even list that hard to reach zerk on the 3 pt linkage.

Yeh, I think it's the pivot linkage for the 3 point and mower deck lift, that's the zerk I'm talking about that's hard to access as is. Here's a pic of it looking from the outside left side, just in front of the rear wheel.

After all these years i have ever noticed those two! Biggest issue is how do you get in there as it is tight to the frame. It doesn’t move a lot but still.....
