a coverall barn or shed

I was curious and made a phone call yesterday and was a little shocked
with the answers and price I got from the guys from the salesman from
www.coverall.net. I asked about a three side shed 30 X 50 and he gave me a price of over $16,000 and it has no sides for 4 feet. In our local penny save
there are pole barns erected 30 X 40 with two garage doors and entrance
door for I think it was a little under $16,000.
I thought the (BIG) fabric barns would be a little cheaper to put up.

Boy I just can not believe that this is what the price is for most of these barns. I was curious has anybody else price any of these coverall barns?

The salesman kept telling me well you can sell it, if that is there best sales pitch they need to come up with some thing else. Besides that I have never built something that I wanted to get rid of 3 years later. When I told him
his prices are expensive and he kept telling well you can resell them.
Has anyone ever priced these? I am just looking to use to store equipment.

I built a 700 sqare foot house at my camp with 800 square feet of covered deck for that price. finished on the inside too! Granted I supplied all labor.

That seems ridiculously expensive!

do a search for "coverit" -- cheaper cousin -- but I've had one for about 10 years now - and it's still keeping stuff dry.

Michelle, I am in agreement with you on these style covers in general. It seems that even the small ones are nearly as expensive as a quality steel frame carport at $1200 to $1500. They may say that portability is part of what you pay for, but to me, being portable means it gets blown away in a windstorm. I'd prefer a steel frame and 26 gage metal for the roof and sides.

I agree with Jinman.
I went to the coverall site to see what you were describing and was not impressed. IMO a steel or wood structure will cost approximately the same amount and will, IMO, last longer, won't blow away in a storm and will probably increase the value of your property. Not sure what the average snow load is and insulation needs are in your area is but that has to be considered as well.
If you get bids for pole barn construction, either metal or wood, you may beat the price of the portable structure and may even get more square footage for the same price.
