A day in heaven

Steve,
It sounds like you are giving that tractor a good workout! My L3410 also had a stiff throttle, but I worked it with the engine off from closed to open a dozen times or so and it seemed to smooth out. I wouldn't want it any easier, as that may allow it to loose RPM's when working.

Have fun!

Thanks for the tip Bud, I will definitely give it a try.

I am giving the machine plenty to do...even have a full bucket on the FEL about 1 out of 10 tries! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif At the end of day 2 my favorite method of moving a small pile of red NC clay is still the pushing with the box scrape.

My wife comes home from work, I have this "I am beat" look and tell her why I haven't cleaned up or done the dishes...I have been working on the yard all day. She takes a look outside and tells me what a good job I did. Maybe I'll get lucky tonight! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

ROFLMBO!!!! Harv, that was hilarious! Glad to hear no one and nothing was hurt. I was LOL at the story so much, my wife came in to see what I was laughing at. (She doesn't like it when I laugh or show any signs of having fun) That's why I have to act like tractoring is hard work. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for sharing the story and for "weaving" the words together so well!!

I've had my share of blunders as well. One day, while I was getting used to it, I was hauling short logs (3x stove-length) down my very steep and narrow road from the forest to my garage. Intended to buck and split them closer to the woodpile. Just as I reached the steepest part of the road, some idiot from Mass in a brand new Jeep came roaring up the hill right at me and honked for me to get out of his way. My hand twitched on the FEL controls and I dumped the log right there on the spot. Of course it went bouncing and rolling right at that Jeep's shiny new grill and I started rehearsing what I was gonna tell the sheriff. Never saw a vehicle travel backwards so fast before, but he escaped without a scratch!

Boondox,
Heck I seen people honk also give the middle finger when I'm out walking....and I believe there caught off guard and become po at me instead of themselves.

Derek -- I'm in Lamoille County on the outskirts of Stowe right next to the Trapp Family Lodge at 1500'. We see a bit of snow.

Thomas, when I first got the B7100 I changed the hydraulic fluid. Since I couldn't tell how much fluid was on the dip stick, I kept filling and filling until it was almost to the top of the reservoir. I ended up painting the hydraulic dip stick flat black so I could see the fluid level on it. Actually had to take a bunch of hydraulic fluid out of the reservoir with my wife's turkey basting thing-a-ma-jiggy.....also had to buy her a new one.

On the ski hill side of the lodge or on the other torwards the camp ground? Either way you must have some really nice acreage. Used to ski at Stowe whent I was younger. My wife and i use the bike path a few times a year. My in laws stay at the camp ground with an RV. I snowshoe up in the Notch once a winter too, very pretty up there. Your right near my favorite store, the Cabot cheese outlet on RT 100, my mouth is watering just thinking about. Great to talk to someone "near by". The Vermonters are coming on strong. I think we are up to 5 or 6 menbers now?
