Steve,
I think that "thing-a-ma-jiggy" call a turkey baster, also works good to remove cement dust from a hole thats been drill.
Yep the women folks do have some handy dandy tools also for us to use....ovens & hair dyers & nail polish remover etc...

On the ski side. My wife is fond of pointing out that our hill is 20' higher than the Trapp's hill. We used to have one of their ski trails cut thru our forest, but eventually the weight of their groomer started cutting our water line. Since they wouldn't help with repairs, we had to close the trail. Sure do miss those skiers -- many of them used to bring dog biscuits for our five golden retrievers. On the other hand, I sure DON'T miss trying to fix the waterline at minus 20!

Anyway, the trail damage is one reason I'm looking to upgrade from my little B1750HST to something that can move serious dirt...like an L3410.

congrads on your new ride! I fully agree ,that this is very hard and important work- just make sure you time it right so your giggling when your back is to your wife(smiley face). HEY! its good to know I am not the only one to extend my range of tools to the wifes kitchen. I once used a turkey baister to fine tune the oil level on my motorcycle forks. Knowing me I probably put it right back in the drawer.

Sad to hear mr. jeep has to be so rude boondox, maybe next time you could get infront of him going the same way- see how he likes doing 11.7 mph. for miles. I dont know how it is elseware but in N. Id. you can go anywhere on the streets with a tractor ,you dont need a registration ,and according to the law you even have the right of way!

Pete,
I bet thats one peaceful place you got there.
Haven't been back to visit the lodge since the fire...whew how long ago was that...heard since repairs were done is not them same..hope they still grow those lovely looking tulips.

Looks like you folks may get little dusting of snow today, stay warm and safe up there.

I noticed in the stats that the L3410 with the creep option races along at 0.11mph. Just think of all the tourists I could annoy with that!!!

Thomas -- The fire was back in '86, so you've been away too long! The only part of the lodge that survived was the bell way up top; when the roof collapsed the bell was thrown into a snowbank. It's up there on top of the roof now, occupying a place of honor. Maria von Trapp was friends with my wife's grandmother...used to come over here and relax when she needed a break. She was a sturdy woman built like a Maytag washer, and thought the choice of Julie Andrews to play her in the movie was the best joke in the world!
