I think I need to buy an excavator just so I can be the proud owner of one of those shredders... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

OMG, DON'T LET THE SIERRA CLUB SEE THOSE VIDEOS!!!!!!!

Now, I just have to figure how to justify the excavator so I could have something to attach one to! Would sure beat chainsaw, limbing, drying, blocking, chipping, shredding.......

Re: A \"Different\" kind of Chipper...

The town to the south of here has an excavator equipped with one of these. It works as advertised and is quite impressive. Even more impressive is the operator who walks the machine down into drainage ditches to clean out overgrowth. I spotted a used one in some equipment ads for $20k so I won't be getting one soon. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

hazmat,
I know what you mean. Definetly on the "wish list".

Our Irrigation District has a Tiger Mower that they use to maintain the drainage ditches and canals. I've been pretty impressed with these too. They have it mounted on about a 70-80HP New Holland tractor. The mower is a certer-mounted boom with a rotary cutter. The tractor has a front engine-mounted hydraulic system. Seems like the Cat's Meow for maintenance. It's not got a very wide cut, but has some kind of attitude! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I wonder when (if) there's plans to make a backhoe sized unit? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif That would be quite a bit less expensive.
