There have been a lot of different receiver style hitches posted here. I leave my landscape box on most of the time and didn't want to take it off to move a trailer, plus I always have a handy attachment point for a chain. Check out the picture.

Interesting approach... and a nice job.

I like it. How about a little paint to stop the rust.

Seems like it would be a good place to hang extra weight on the blade. Also would be good for one of those receiver mounted carry-all's to shuttle things around. Nice job. I've got to learn how to weld.

That is a brialliant idea. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think I have a weekend project (besides hiving my bees, setting retaining walls, etc)

Yeah I have to paint it. I had just got through welding it.

I don't know anything about any of this stuff, so please excuse me for asking, but why won't pulling a load with that hitch deform the back of the box blade? Is it because the three point hitch supports that seem to be welded to the inside of the back wall of the box blade would act as a counter force to whatever outward force is applied by what is being towed? Or is the box blade simply that sturdily constructed?

This is not to say, of course, that I do not think that you did a nice job because I do. I am just curious what about the construction of the box blade enables one to successfully make a modification like that.

Look at the 2 horizontal braces going from the rear of the box to the front. That along with the diagonals will keep it from warping. My tractor will spin before this thing tears up.
