Farmwithjunk -- a wise friend of mine once said "...a guy can lose a lot of good years trying to save a few lousy minutes." Sound advice, I say.
On the groundhog shooting -- If you know they're out there, you can sometimes make them sit up with a sharp whistle. It's a pretty common trick around here when the hay is a little on the long side. If your windage is good, a tall groundhog lets you hit 'em farther out than one that is horizontal. The one I got at 135 yards with a 6" .357 Colt Trooper was standing up. I held over his head but broke his hips with the bullet.
