That is an awesome project. I have to believe that most contractors would walk away from that one.
I like the idea of using stone for the steps. It will really make the steps look grand.
Can't wait to see it done.

I cant wait for the finished product I think I have a vision on the stonework and irregular shapes, but Im curious what you come up with on the railings !!! And the lighting, well, could you even imagine trying to do something really creative even 30 years ago Probablly not

I think I see what you are doing. The sandstone is a great idea. I'm really curious what the rail is going to look like. Are the lights going to be under the rail? Alongside or under the steps?

Last night after I had the leads pulled back up the mountain and rolled up I was too pooped to go back down for pictures. But if we have another good day like we did yesterday I'll have the basic framing done. And if the weather works with us by tomorrow I'll have all the welding done.

The grade and working on the side hill has made it interesting to say the least. It's difficult to lift and hold when you can't even keep your feet underneath you. And if anything starts sliding or rolling it means another trip down and then back up.

Yesterday afternoon as my son and myself were sucking air totally tuckered the lawn service guys arrived. They're unbelievable. They had to almost carry the lawnmowers down the hill. And then two of them pushed mowers over the park like area down along the lake. It's up and down with no level areas at all. Then they had to haul their mowers out.

They made me feel awful old.

Today we had a good day. It was a might bit warm, but this is norte tejas and in June it starts getting a might bit warm.

I've got the basic framing done. Tomorrow I should have the welding complete. Monday we'll try to get the metal prepped and painted. Tuesday we should start rocking and rolling (hope not, just rocking if you please)
