Oil & Fuel A few gallons of gas accidentally got put in my diesel tractor. Suggestions?

Have you ever run diesel in a small gas engine? what a horrible sound.. had one of our workers dump diesel into a trash pump... we likely to never have gotten that thing started after that.. drain everything.. blow out carb.. etc.. etc.. change brown oily plug.. etc..

If you've got a good engine - no worry, just don't make a habit of it. Drain what you can and make sure you put a conditioner in a fresh tank of diesel.

Yes, my son filled my small lawnmower, wouldn't fire worth a D$%N. I had a back injury so they just kept trying to start it. I finally smelled the fuel cap. Dumped it out, wiped the plug, put in high test and ran it for several more years before the deck failed.

Just curious, what do you do with the stuff you drain out, whether gas or diesel or a combination of both?

Assuming its gas or a combination I put it in the car or the gas John Deere. If its diesel I put it back where it came from.

great if you neet an octane boost.. or you have bad spark knock... but wouldn't be my choice.. why make your small engine run bad for a while.. plenty of other uses for contaminated fuel that won't foul plugs, make carbs hard starting.. etc. There's a reason why tvo and kerosene machines on spark ignitions use vaporizing carbs.
