The money spent upfront on the cab option is like money in the bank. It will bring it's value to the table if you ever have to sell it.
I agree the cab is sweet. When I was looking at moving from a 3520 to the 5083E, I told them I was not interested in a cab tractor and that I couldn't afford it. Then the sales guy said climb up there and start this thing up. So I did reluctantly and he switched on the a/c, and I was sold. I mowed 60 acres of crp with an HX15 bat wing cutter on my 5083E this week, and it did a pretty good job. That is all the cutter I would want on there, but it mowed some pretty thick stuff at 5.5 mph, and didn't bog down to badly. I bought mine without a radio and put an Alpine stereo and polk audio speakers in it, and it sounds pretty darn good. And, that stereo and the speakers were cheaper than the radio from JD. Speakers were a pain to get to, but made a world of difference from those paper cone speaks they put in there.
The stereo and the Michelin Radials made the biggest improvements on this tractor.

How hard was it to put in your own radio? I am thinking of having them leave one out and I can get one I like better.
