Clacking sound, not a knock, sounds like the cam hitting the lifters/pushrods. Don't ask how I know.

Why was the question withdrawn? That makes this thread worthless. The whole idea of TBN forum is so we all can read and learn, not just one person.

The OP may end up in conflict with his dealer. My interpretation of the withdrawal was that the original question could have been prejudicial against him. He came here, emotional because his tractor was broke, and said some things that might have looked bad. Once he calmed down and got some perspective, I think he wanted to withdraw those things, in case he ends up having to fight his dealer for the repair.

The short version is that his machine ran dry of oil unexpectedly while running.
