A first for me.

Was mowing ditch bank along highway yesterday,and when finished,pulled tractor up to house. Went to turn off,and no key in the ignition! Found a key on my keyring that turned it off.Looked for lost key with no luck. This on a New Holland, TC29.

Just fell out some how,with it still in the on position.

When I was a kid the neighbor had a Chevy do that. A lot of tractor keys (all) seem to be the same, at least for a given brand/model. They were real careful about the car key.

Never had that happen in my TC40. I can't even remember the last time the key was removed from the ignition. There is nothing else with the key, no key ring, etc.

When new, they come with a spare key. I've heard they are all the same too, at least for the year and model.

The dealer will have them.. I looked for them online but there may be 2 different ones.. you didn't say what year, and if you TC29 was a D or DA model.

Any way the dealer will have them or you can buy them online

When I was a Bobcat mechanic I had 3 or 4 keys that would start any Bobcat that could show up. Not special keys just the same as all owners have. :shocked:

When you get another key, see if it comes out in the ON position. Might be time for a new switch too.

Did that with the spare,and it would not pull out while in the on position and its a 2000 model year,found key online,and going to check with dealer Tue.
