Great story George, I am sure there were smiles all around and that day will be talked about many years into the future.

I hate the Alzheimers part, but know all too well where you are at. All I can figure is to hang on to each moment you can.

Post the pics.

And yes it is heartbreaking when someone you love is heading down that path...and even more-so that you can't turn them around and you know they are getting closer to the end. I just wish he had been able to enjoy a few more years of retirement.

Mornin George,
Thats just great, I would say that day made the season ! ;)

Mornin David,
My Pops 82 and I try to spend as much time with him as I can, along with my Mom ! I guess Ive been more fortunate than many in having them around for so long ! I saw what Parkinsons did to my Uncle Gunther and its very sad ! So I guess the lesson from all this as spend as much quality time with your parents as you can !

As a non-hunter, I say post the pictures. It shouldn't suprise people where their meal comes from. I enjoy venison too.
I'm up in Maine this week, Moose season. I saw 10+ moose in two days, only two were still standing. :D

ps: TSC is open in Skowhegan!

I sure did enjoy your post! In the end, you don't recall every day of your life, but this is one I'm sure you will.

My heart goes out to you and your father. How precious it is to have a day like you did.

Please post the photos. If someones reading this thread and is surprised by the photos.........well then I'd be surprised. :)

Sounds like a great hunt and a good bonding of the generations. These are memories your son will never forget. I would enjoy seeing the pictures of the successful hunt. You have a very good flair for writing, I enjoy reading your posts, thanks for sharing.

Great picture!!!! Those smiles are priceless. You should make three copies and get them all framed. Your son will probably like it allot now, but over time, it will become priceless to him. Just like it will for you and your dad.

Great story, great pictures, and I can't see how those pictures would offend anybody (unless they belong to PETA-and I wouldn't think they would hang with us on TBN)

That would be at LEAST three 8x10 pictures being made if it was me. Maybe one for my office and one for the house.

I think you all will remember that day for a long time to come, and those days are few and fleeting.
