Today was one of those days that everything was just right. Came home and bush hogged the back field. As I was finishing up my daughter informed me that dinner was ready fresh salad, sweet corn, and chicken/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif,dinner on the back porch. Whether was perfect sat on the back porch relaxed and watched the fire flies do there thing while the crickets chirp. Lifes little pleasures/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. Just one nice evening.

Life's little pleasures are the best ones I reckon.

I get up each morning in this lovely winter weather and just gawk at the lovely day.

Another day in Paradise I say to myself.

Cheers all.

Sounds to me like we all have our own little pieces of Paradise - if we are just take the time to recognize them. My wife runs a B&B on our farm and one of the things we have noticed over the last couple of years is that seeing our place through someone else's eyes is a tremendous reminder of how great life is. Guests comment regularly on the fresh air, sunrises, sunsets, birds, peace and quiet. Some folks from the larger cities have said it was the first time they could actually see more than the moon, the big dipper and Orion at night - where did all the rest of those stars come from /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif? Watched a couple of deer watering at our east pond about 5:05 this morning - just as the sun was cutting through the mist - oh yes, it is great to be alive! We call our place Resonance because of the harmony here.

I totally agree. Lifes little pleasures are always around us. We just don't take the time to see them. Just this morning as I was rushing through the house getting ready to go to work, I happened to see a deer emerge from the woods behind us. After 5 min. 6 deer were standing 50 yrds from my back porch. 5 bucks in velvet with 1 lone doe. Needless to say, I was 45 minutes late for work this morning as I enjoyed my coffee at home instead of on the road.

I agree, when you forget how nice it is in the country, just wait till you have guests out. They always remind you of how quiet and peaceful it is. They comment on how the trees you planted have grown. Being there every day, it kind of sneaks up on you. I never will get tired of it.

I have never forgetten how nice and quiet it is in the country even though I now live near the city. I was born and raised in the country but have been in the city for 26 years. I have never stopped missing the country life and can't wait to get back to it someday when I retire.

When I go home to south Ark. for a visit I like to go outside at night and listen to the night time sounds. I hear hoot owls, whippoorwills, coyotes and crickets. I see a clear, pollution free night sky with millions of stars and it stirs my soul. There is no city glow on the horizon over the trees, no roar of cars on the road and not even a neighbor within sight or sound.

If I could make a living there I would be gone in a heartbeat. I always remind my uncle not to take for granted what he has there in the country. My job is in the city but my heart will always be in the country.
