Tractor
MX 5100
It's an MX5100. Don't need it for anything, just want to honk at folks as I go by and get peoples attention when they're helping me. I don't want an air horn or anything too outlandish, just something that works and is loud enough to hear it over the tractor. Anyone installed one before?

I would put one of these on it. It will defiantly get peoples attention.

Wolo/12 Volts heavy duty old car Ooogah sound Fun Horn (330) | Horn | AutoZone.com

Its 114 Decibels so its a bit louder then you wanted.

Never installed one as mine has one from the factory. All you need is a self returning switch (not sure of proper name) and hook it up to the electrical system.

You could probably pick up a horn of a car at a salvage yard for cheap.

I went to the auto parts and got a horn, relay, horn button and wired one in on my M9540. Seems that these tractors should have horns already on them as a lot of people use them to clear cows out of the way or signaling other people on the property. Of course they should have a glove box of some type on cab tractors but they don't have that either.

How interesting, My Kioti has a horn factory installed, and I just haven't found a use for it yet! I don't have any cows!

Here is a genuine kubota horn.

It will sound like a piece of construction equipment.

You could also do like Gary said and get a horn at the auto parts store. If you do get a horn that does high and low tone, I can't think of what that is called.

My 4240 has one, I wish the BX did. It is handy.

I'm surprised adding a horn is so complicated for you guys. My L45 came pre-wired for the horn. The steering wheel had a horn switch in it and the wires went right to the front of the grill with a std horn connector set already installed. I just need to add an actual horn.

The TLB's are designed for commercial use, so they have an option for a horn (I'm not positive but I believe its might be a safety requirement for commercial job sites.) However, most of the other tractors Kubota sells are primarily intended for agricultural use so they're not setup for a horn.

The good news is Kubota seems to be listening to customer demand as I know a horn is now standard on the new B50 series that I'm getting (no need to go through the trouble of retrofitting another horn.)
