A Jim Dandy of an issue

So last week I went to do my weekly crank and system checks on the Jim Dandy. Fired up right away, was running great. Temp was about 20F
Gears are free, hydraulics ok..let it run for about 4 mins..then STOPPAGE>. what? go to crank it back up...turns very slow..first thought was engine ...but its a new engine..on a whim, though it is not in gear and I can push it back and forth. I pressed the clutch in...it turns and fires right up. let the clutch out and it starts to bog down again. If I let it all the way out it stalls the engine. Any suggestions?

Does it have a belt and pulley clutch or a fiber plate clutch?

should be a fiber plate.. to the best of my knowledge it is this Six-inch single dry-disc Borg Warner, with ball-bearing throwout bearing.
Foot operated, 35 ft.-lb. torque rating.
Funny thing is we have never had an issue in years..then I read about water build up in the tranny case so we drained it and flushed it and installed new fluids. It was running awesome after that...110!! but after this hard freeze...ugh

It sounds like the gear oil is too heavy, or water got into it.

we used what was called for..I do remember searching all day for the manual to make sure.. and it's ran great since we did the drain and change back in May

Warmed up enough outside to pop the drain...plink plink plink went the bearings into the drain pan

It happens....just find it funny..that it had never had the lube changed prior to our getting it..then we used it for years..then when I get time to actually tune it up and make things right....it fails lol
