What I would like to see is a more equitable distribution of money, but that will never happen. In this day (and in NYS) Pork Barrell monies all to often go to those who don't necessary need it but get it.
I wouldn't have a problem with the poor districts getting money as long as they actually used it for the better of the schools and students. I hear to often that schools can't afford text books, and instruments for the band, but another district gets a new indoor pool that replaces one that was hardly used.
I know life isn't always fair, but as I am about to start paying property taxes (with my new house) and moving out of apartment living, I know that I will wan't to be more involved to help keep my taxes in line, but make sure the schools are not hurt at the same time.
