\"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

I thought I just read in a post somewhere on here that someone got a good price by virtue of being a Ford employee.

My daughter works for Ford as an engineer, so I can get "A" plan prices on cars and trucks. Does that work for tractors, too? If so, that could be a big part of my upcoming purchase decision. It would also provide some insight into dealer cost of these things, which seems to be a mystery to most of us.

It seems you ask the dealer what he wants for a given machine and go from there. I have yet to see anything resembling a price sticker for a tractor.

Re: \"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

"A" plan pricing on NH tractors is slightly different from the automotive plan. The tractor must be purchased by a Ford EMPLOYEE. Friends and family are not eligible for the discount. Your daughter would have to "buy" the tractor for you. I would assume that if you financed through CNH credit, her name would have to be on the loan. But hey, Christmas is right around the corner /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
You are correct in that there is no "sticker price" on tractors. I got "A" plan prices from three different dealers. Two of those dealers came in with the EXACT same price, as they should have. The third... lets just say he didn't want to sell at "A" plan price /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Best of luck in your search.

If the dealer wants to sell you a tractor at "A" plan you they can make it happen. I also found out that the "A" plan pricing can only be to an employee or retired employee. I get "A" plan through my grandpa and the dealer just wrote up two bills, one to send in and one for me to actually pay from. My dealer did show me their invoice and how my price was figured.

Also, Ford Benefits has nothing to do with this plan, so don't bother contacting them for more information. This is a plan offered by NH to Ford Employees independent of Ford Benefits.

So the dealer is still able to adjust his profit margin even with the A plan then? Still, it could be another complication in the mix when I get to an actual purchase. Probably doesn't apply to Case, does it? Thinking they are essentially the same company now, it would be a nice thing.

Re: \"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

When I bought I got the tractor at "Dealer Cost", but then the dealer wouldn't budge from list on the FEL Package. It was three years ago, and at the time I figured I had saved ~$1000 from going prices discussed on TBN after everything was done. It was nice not having to dicker, which I am terrible at.

You should have seen my 80 year old Parkinson's FIL signing for "his" new tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't know about Case.

Re: \"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

A plan has to be bought thru the Ford Employee. The pricing is actual cost plus setup and freight. We can buy A plan thru my grandfather and in fact was talking to my dealer about it today (looking to buy my grandfather a TZ to mow our yard with (it keeps him busy))

The Case dealer I went to was happy to give me an "A" plan price. The price was the same as the NH. I just have a personal preference for the color BLUE /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif .

Re: \"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

Letter dated 10-28-2005 Marketing Letter No. 311 sent to all NH dealers.

NH will be highlighted on the internal Ford Motor Company employee/retiree website. More than 170,000 active Ford employees and over 130,000 retiress will have acess to NH employee purchase plan info. Because Ford employees recognize the A plan as the very best discount offered, the program will be marketed as the Ford Motor Company Employee Purchase A Plan.

Hope this helps. Your local dealer can download the info from the dealer portal and look for form 222043 which explains how it works.

Re: \"A\" plan pricing on NH tractors??

FYI,
When I last looked at NH they would accept "X" plan as well. This is available to most dealer employees as well as family of company employees. X-Plan is typically 2% over invoice, if I remember correctly. So ask about X-plan if you cannot get A-plan.
