A problem with widening up the rear wheels

I don't think 'bota like you doing that.

Wider ramps are the deal. Or a pucker proof seat cushion....

Rob,
Can you flip the fronts so they are out wider?
Or are the centered on the rim? Mine were dished and when I flipped them out, I gained about 4" per side.

I think on these they are pretty centered, I'll have to doublecheck when I get home. Looking at some pics maybe an inch at best. Good thought.

I had to read every post to make sure somebody hadn't mentioned flipping the front wheels to make the front wider. Sure enough, 3RRL beat me to it again! Hopefully that is all you need to do, but if that won't work, take a disc of steel and build a spacer, rather than modifying the axle. That way you can take it out before a sale of the tractor, and it will also add to the front end weight.

Another good idea. Sell my tractor!!! Never!! :D

Oh by the way what size tires do you have on your trailer?

I think they are 20.5x8x10. Snowmobile or Sled trailer wheels.

It's not just Kubota...using a different rim offset on any steering axle messes with the bearing loading and alignment. A line drawn thru the steering pivot point should intersect the center of the tire's ground contact point. Probably not as critical on a tractor as a road vehicle, but...

I am pretty sure 'bota would not complain about using their wheels to offset the track of the tires, since it is a very common thing with tractors. Rows of plants are set apart differently, and the tires need to stay between them, not run right down the top of them. Thus the rim offsets, for both the front and rears. I know JD and Ford do this, especially on FWA, as it is almost impossible to spread the axle out on a front wheel drive, and you have to be able to move the tracking position.
Anyone have an owners manual for a 'bota that they can check just how wide the wheels can be widened to?

All my owner's manuals said don't widen the fronts, even if you have
reversible wheels. I admit I did it anyway in some cases to reduce
tip-up risks.

Just set the rears back to narrow.............................. and add duals ! Problem solved (no..... i'm not paying for the 2 extra wheels and 2 extra tires!) !!

Do you really need the rears spaced out? I thought about this for mine. Just 'cause I could. The tire spread became more than the width of my attachments so I didn't do it. I haven't rolled it yet.
