About half the time I spend on TBN I have an old WebTV setup that I use. I would like to have an option to quote what somebody said in a private message. I guess this could be done by dragging and clicking with a computer but I don't have that option. I've had people reply to a PM I sent them awhile back and with no quote of what I said to look back on I don't even know what they are talking about! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Just a thought!

An image option would be nice too........as long as we're asking for early fathers day gifts might as well add a few things more...........the politicians always tack a few things on to everything for good measure..............(oops.......Something with politics........baaad )........Sorry...............

WebTV can do a lot of things a computer can do. Although there's no mouse, you can cut, copy and paste text.

Steps:
1. Go to a page with text that you want to copy and paste.

2. Press Cmd-A to select all the text in an area, or to select part of the text, press the Shift-Cmd-A key and use the arrow keys to narrow down the selection.

3. Press Cmd-C to copy the selected text or Cmd-X to cut the selected text.

4. Go to where you want to place the text (in an e-mail message, for example). Click where you want the text to begin.

5. Press Cmd-V to paste.

WebTV is still in business? With the low prices of PCs these days, why put up with such a horrible way to view the web?

Yep, it's still around. My wife has one brother who still uses it.

While we are talking Quote feature, I'll say one of the problems that I've noticed. If you quote something in your post it works OK, but if you have to go back and edit that post, copy your quote again, delete all of the special formatting & the original quote, hit Quote again, and then finally repaste your quote. Otherwise the post ends up looking like one of LBrown59's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's why I don't use the quote feature -- just the COLOR BLUE and add my own parenthesis.

I use the quote feature a lot, but if I go back and edit one of my posts, then I remove everything but the color blue.

Unfortunately, many other's who quote your quotes, or edit a previous post don't edit them -- and apparently don't care how horrible it looks.
