Just goes to show you how lucky we are. Those tractors are far better than the alternatives. They are also still built in great quantities I attached a picture of what they looked like new. The real funny part is that when I was a kid on the ranch there was a fair amount of equipment that looked just like that and it was built by JD.

I spent a few weeks in China about 10 years ago. They used a lot of walk behind tractors. The front looked like the front of this one.
All of them smoked a lot, but seemed to be running. The automobile that the factory reps were hauling me around in smoked too, and had oil added about every 20 miles or so. I am not sure if the auto was Chinese or Russian though.
The fact that an oil burning smoking vehicle seemed to be the norm does not make me want to buy a chineese tractor. Different standards for different countries I guess. We Americans are just so picky /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They use a very high sulfur diesel that smokes like crazy. These are not examples of the tractors China sends to us, this is an example of how poor you can be and go on with your life thankful for what you have...

Richard,
not necessarially, I buy Chinese stuff everytime I shop at Wal Mart /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif , they and many US retailers would close if not for Chinese imports. I just don't want to buy any machinery from that costs over a couple of hundred dollars. The stuff they export is better quality than the Chinese people are used to, but not up to the reliability standards I require when making a substantial investment in a tractor.

$6k vs. $12k-$14k ?? i don't consider that an investment, i consider that smart shopping! no, they ain't no kub or deere, but they're work horses and one heck of a tractor for the money! i could go back in some hollers and take some pics much like the ones posted, of old deere or kub, whatever, but i certainly wouldn't try to turn around and compare new tractors to the pics!

cool down gauthier!!!! it was in a jokingly reference as to an investment = spending/purchasing with intent of making future profit vs. just plain ole buying a tractor to use, tinker with, and get your money's worth. and i happen to think they're an excellent bargain and one hell of a tractor for the money. if i didn't, i wouldn't be selling them, or be a jinma dealer. as far as hollers in ohio??? well, my family was originally from ky., and yes, we got some hills in ohio, so let's just call them 'buckeye hollers'.
