A Sad Reminder

For me life is just to short and I love everyday too much to risk it... thats why there are tire shops. If they don't take air themselves I either call the farm service truck or take it in myself.

It boggles the mind why professional people wouldn't use the proper equipment to seat a bead on recalcitrant tires.

Wow, that's the biggest can of Ether I have ever seen. I didn't realize it took so much.

Relax, I am kidding.

I have 3 of these cheater tanks and they work good on some things like new tires that stand up when the machine is jacked up. ALot of tires like trailer tires or a spare truck thats not moved and has a flat the tire is so wrinkled that it wont seat. THey also wont seat a some stiff new tires. I cant seat my skid steer tires with the air tank as they have rimguard beads on them.

One reason I use ether is that when a truck gets a flat onthe side of the road and here we dont have any shoulders. I can park a service truck run an air line to the tire and then ether it and be gone till the truck can get to a better spot.

With the CHeater tank your about 2 to 3 feet further out in the road. I had to use either this morning on a truck tire. The tire wouldnt take with the air soe we gave it a small squirt.

Gas works too. Don't recommend it but... When you're on a trail an far from home you do what you got to. Only had a small hand pump and some plugs. That doesn't help when your 4 wheeler tire is off bead. Oh well I got home;-)

I agree, 2 of the cheetas wont seat my stiff skidd steer tires but a little gas poured around the rim will. I am not recomending it though.

Nope! I have a manual tire machine (bought it when I started Stock Car racing back in mid 80s) but I usually don't have trouble getting tire beads to seat. If I can't work them onto the bead, I will simply take them off again and spread them apart using four 1 X 2 wood slats cut to length. After leaving them spread like that for a day or two, they take a set and the beads are pushing against the seats when I put them on again. I realize not everybody will have the luxury of waiting like that but if you do, it does work quite well.

I see nothing wrong with trying this! As long as: No people are exposed to what you should assume will be a humongous explosion, & you are completely OK with what you should assume will be the destruction of your tire/rim & maybe some other nearby stuff.

Meet that, & you can go for it IMO

Plus the amusement of watching the wheel hop, pop or thump off the ground..But starting fluid takes a small amount..It is not nearly as dangerous as putting a tire on the old 3 piece wheels for duals? Having to either sit in the wheel or shoving it under a jeep to inflate..We Finally recieved the safety cage for inflation?I believe they finally stopped making those wheels?
