Just a few pics of my garage/shed going up.There was not a level spot on the lot to build on so it took lots of bank run gravel and a retaining wall to make it work.

the retaining wall is not in this set of pictures.Twelve loads of bank run so far.The shop is needed to continue with this project.Too cold to work on the carport anymore.

Hi Bones. Your toys will be happy they have a place to call home.;) What size is going to be? Did you use cement to set the post or tamp dirt back in around the post. Seen it done both ways and from the pics the area around the posts looks clean. Also, I see where the tall timbers Maryland comes from. You have some monsters in those woods.

Thanks elalexander. We got some bigg'ens here. The pole barn is 30WX36LX12.4H walls. The poles have moulded plastic pole protectors that do fit tight. They are about 5 ft tall then two 80# bags of concrete in the bottom of the hole (dry) then fill in with remaining dirt and tamp down real good.Moisture from the ground is supposed to harden the concrete over time.
Just hope one of those trees doesn't take a liking to my shed.

Looks like your building a very nice home for that vette!!!!

I like those plastic sleeves on the poles. Did the contractor do that, or are they like that from the supplier? I've never seen them before and I'd love to learn more about them.

Are you going to pour a pad to work on when it's all built?

Is there a man door to get in?

Thanks for the pictures,
Eddie

Hi Eddie, was waiting for you.The post protectors came in a bundle and they drove them onto the posts and secured with screws that had rubber washers on them.Keeps water from coming through the protectors. There is a man door on the left front-side as well.A slab will come later and I will need a bit of fill first looking at the bottom boards.I tried to grade it level but had no laser so this is what I get.Open to all suggestions on the best way to fill/not fill and do the slab.Thanks.
